Tracking your results as you move forward in job production is an important part of this system Job Work Flow. The dates you set and update in the Job Master will appear in the Job Calendar, and will be used in the Reporting System's reports on your jobs and suppliers.
After you set a job's status to Ordered or later, the dates section of the Job Master General Info tab will change to the On-Time Tracking mode.
In the On-Time Tracking mode, the original set of production dates are copied into a second row, representing the production plan, and the first set of date selectors may now be used to show the actual dates of production. Click on the button under each header to switch the dates from Anticipated to Actual and lock them in place. The difference, if any, between the dates, is used by the Reporting System to show which of your suppliers complete their work on-time or early, and which miss their deadlines. You can also see which suppliers are fastest to respond to RFQs, and their average time to complete parts of the job. If a supplier is often late or does shoddy work, there is no reason to offer them your business! Updating these dates as time passes is important to getting accurate and useful information from the Reporting System.
